Croatia Part 2, Serbia and Montenegro

After meeting up with Wendy and her friend Laura we headed from Mostar back to Split and after a rushed dinner at cafe fife we headed onto the ferry that would take us to Hvar. The ferry ride was smooth andwe had an awesome sunset! We were met by Andre who had an awesome apatment for us with a cool terrace and private rooms and bathrooms all for very little a night. Hvar is where the rich of europe come to play in the expensive bars and on their private yachts.
We spent the next few days having some bigs nights, hiring a boat, eating seafood and swimming in the amazing turgoise waters of the adriatic. Life was very tough!

Sadly all fun must come to an end and we headed to Dubrovnik where I said goodbye to Wendy and Lara and spent a few days exploring this city. I stayed in a nice guesthouse ran by an old granny named lucy who treated me like her grandchild. The views down onto Dubrovnik were spectacular. I also found some secret beaches and nice bars here. The highlight though of Dubrovnik was walking around he city wall.

After Dubrovnik it was onto Montenegro to a nice town at the end of a Fjord called Kotor. This was an old walled city with fortifications that ran up the mountainside which gave awesome views of the town below and the surrounding moutains. Had dinner with a couple of frenchies and hit a few bars in the old town that night.

The next day I headed to Budva for some well deserved relaxations.. Here I met up with mark and matt again from Bosnia. We had a an awesome few days relaxing, drinking 2L plastic bottles of beer, BBQs, jumping off cliffs and partying in the many many tempoary night clubs that open up here.

After 5 days of relaxing I headed up on the overnight train to Belgrade in Serbia. This town was quite boring really and sooo hot. There was a massive police presence in the street as they had just arrested a war criminal from the Balkan wars who was hiding out as an alternate medical healer in some small town in Serbia. There is still a lot of support for the Serbian leaders here who were involved in the war and most young people dont want to think or talk about it and would rather move on with their lives. The highlight of Belgrade was definitely a night out on the barges which man the danube river. Basically there are about 15 or more of these barges and all have discos on them in summer. Very fun.

After a few days in Serbia it was onto Bulgaria and Romania.
